One Could Have Told Me...
Behold, children are a gift of the LORD,
The fruit of the womb is a reward. (Psalm 127:3 NASB)
To
all of you moms out there, I'm probably just beginning to understand. To
all of you who are not moms yet, I won't even begin to try and describe
it. I'm speaking of the precious call to be a mother to one that is so
small and so helpless, so dependent for every need. And it would seem so
simple. Sometimes it's nourishment, sometimes it's getting cleaned up, and
then other times it's just plain quality cuddle time. How my heart beams
with pride when I gaze at her and how it shares her contentment when she's
peacefully sleeping or simply scanning in wonder her new world. But oh how
the heart aches when she's in distress! If she only knew that I am
striving to do my best for her. I know I will never be able to be a
perfect parent to her, but I do pray that as she grows she will see the
perfection of Christ in me as I yield to His plan for her life. To
think He already has a plan for her life -- long before she was even
conceived! All I can testify now is that children truly are a gift from
the Lord and we have been blessed abundantly! The love that is growing in
me each and every moment for her is just merely scratching the surface of the
depth of love that Jesus has for each of us. And it really is so
simple. Sometimes he longs to nourish us, sometimes he needs to clean us
up, and then other times -- it's just plain quality cuddle time with a loving
Father!

For this reason I kneel before the Father, from whom his whole family in heaven and on earth derives its name.
I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being,
so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love,
may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of
Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge -- that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.
